Ok, let’s see how this new site works. Go comic, go!

Today’s update is many, many hours later than I would have preferred, but considering there was a point during the weekend where I didn’t think I was going to even have a site for another week, I think we can all deal with it. Besides, it’s still Monday (5pm in my timezone) – despite being late, the page is still, strangely, on time.

I’ve set up a proper redirect from the old nomadchronicle URL, so if anyone’s still confused about the new site and the circumstances behind it, it please see this news post.

Hey Rose! Hey site! Hey comic!

Haven’t encountered any problems so far, but I’ll give you a tweet or something if I find some errors.

That Airin kid isn’t too good with the instructions, is he?

    • Kyethn says:

      Hey Jonny!

That’d be much appreciated, I’m sure there’s at least a few hiccups in the site design.

And no, no he is not. To be fair, Renshou’s just showing him what he’s supposed to be doing at this point.

I just had a sudden moment of apprehension about this entire RMR project of yours…

You always described it as a “Steampunk” fantasy story, and yet I could not recall any instance in which I saw a character wearing brass pressure goggles. As every trend-punk genre is categorised by its optical headwear (brass goggles for steampunk, neon visors for cyberpunk, etc), I thought this was a scathing criticism of your work and a point of condescension until I checked through your archives. You did me proud on pages 37 and 38 in which Adrianna is wearing some during her ship repairs – all charges are dropped.

    You win this round, Loughran.

  3. Wurtane says:

I can just see this kid going up to his buddies, going, “Dude, I can make flames.” “Show us then…unless you can’t.” And see him try and fail. LOL!

    • Kyethn says:

It’ll eventually come up, but within Imara all of the nobility can do magic – that’s why they’re the nobility. I doubt he’d risk showing off that he can’t. :)

  4. Sen says:

This reminds me of a ritual I was taught during a spirit trip in the mountains!

Of course I’ve yet to do it, despite having a bunch of candles and candle-holders.

    Preeetty candle.

    • Kyethn says:

I suppose it is a pretty generic sort of ritual thing. Of course, you’re totally missing out – if you give it a go maybe you’ll be able to do what Renshou does on the next page.

Candle was fun to draw! Should have more close up shots of candles, obviously.

  5. Spoogles says:

Is her face gonna light up with letters like that old chap in Ashul who got exploderised?

  6. Mason010 says:

The glowy letters on someones face was awesome. this whole comic is EPIC!!!!! Rose you are AWESOME!!!

    • Kyethn says:

Wow, thank you! I think that may be the single most positive comment I’ve ever received. Glad you like the comic, and the glowy face runes – there’s going to be a lot of them in this chapter. :D
